A try for the Network Specialist Examination

Today, I took the Network Specialist Examination, an examination famous for both its high reputation in IT industry and its extremely low pass rate.
This was my first try. Though I applied for the same examination last year, I chickened out on the last day and gave up taking the examination.
This time, after a nearly-one-month preparation, I gathered some courage and gave it a try to take the examination.
And the result is ... quite sad to say. Though I amazingly got all the answers right in the morning part, it is unlikely for me to pass the examination, due to my bad performance in the afternoon part.
But that's kinda a predictable result because the Network Specialist Examination is not one of those examinations you can pass with just a nearly-one-month preparation.
I decided to have another try next year, with a nearly-one-year preparation.

A huge detour.

Yesterday (or the day before yesterday, to be precisely), due to the suspension of JR Keiyou Line caused by the strongest typhoon in past few years, I was forced to make a huge detour, which took me more than 1 hour and a half, to get to my office, a place only one station away from my home.
Why not just go to my office on foot?
Sometimes typhoon kills a pedestrian and safety is the utmost importance.

I got promoted.

Yesterday, 18 months after I started to work, I got promoted to level 2 engineer. This promotion has been postponed for half a year, due to the global recession.
There's no big change after the promotion. I'm not going to be assigned to any new project and for at least another 18 months there will not be any level 1 engineer coming to our team, due to the halt of recruiting in the global recession.
The only change might be the salary, which is supposed to be increased by 10, 000 yen or so. And that increasement can barely cover the resident tax, which I started to pay from this April.
